An evening of original music with a female focus, Women and Song shines a spotlight on talented female songwriters, composers and performers.
Glastonbury-based singer and songwriter Mandy Woods brings her Women and Song concert series to Swanage. Throughout her unconventional musical journey, Mandy has written and performed her songs on both sides of the Atlantic. She draws inspiration from her own life and adventures, as well as the people and stories around her, creating songs that explore hope, heartbreak, humour and the highway.
Mandy shares the stage with Polly Morris, a Dorset-based singer-songwriter and whirlwind of entertainment. Polly combines laugh-out-loud humour with heartfelt, poignant songwriting, taking her audience on an emotional journey from tears to laughter. Expect plenty of energy, honesty and entertainment from start to finish.
Completing the trio, Dr Esther Rivas-Adrover brings her original piano compositions to the evening. Esther creates music that evokes ripples of water, waves of ideas or echoes in a cave, exploring life’s complexities alongside moments of inspiration drawn from nature and personal experience. Her work reflects her creative life across music and architecture, where she brings together her passions for science, art and creative expression. Supporting the Focus Centre
This is more than an evening of great music. 50% of the proceeds from the evening will be donated to the Focus Centre in Swanage, which is currently raising £10,000 to open a community café and garden.
