What is Wareham Wednesdays?
Wareham Wednesdays is a free community event held on Wareham Quay every Wednesday evening throughout August. Each themed evening features live music, family entertainment, food and drink stalls, a licensed bar, children’s activities, fairground-style stalls, and a fireworks display to round off the night.
Organised by a local community group, the event raises money for local charities and good causes through voluntary donations.

What are the themed evenings for August 2026?
5th August – Party Night
Live music from The Big Nite Out, performances from Dorchester & Bridport Rock Choir, a pop-up car show, children’s entertainment, and fireworks.
12th August – Retro Nostalgia & Tug of War
A retro-themed evening featuring the annual Tug of War competition, live music, children’s entertainment, and fireworks.
19th August – Pirate Invasion
The popular Pirate Invasion returns as pirates attempt to land on Wareham Quay while crowds armed with water pistols help defend the town. Fancy dress is encouraged, followed by live music and fireworks.
26th August – Wild West & Raft Race
The final evening features the annual Raft Race, a Wild West theme, live country music, family entertainment, and a fireworks display.
Where does it take place?
Events take place on Wareham Quay and on the opposite bank of the River Frome, connected by Wareham Bridge. Pubs, cafés and restaurants on the Quay remain open throughout the evening, making it a popular place to enjoy the entertainment.
