SAS Rogue: The Clandestine Life of Peter Weaver

An extraordinary wartime story revealed by Dr Will Ward and Joanna Weaver at a special talk at The Mowlem in Swanage

📅 Monday 5 October
⏰ 2.00pm

SAS Rouge by Peter Weaver

Step into the secret world of Britain’s wartime underground with Dr Will Ward, as he presents the remarkable story of Major Peter Weaver in SAS Rogue: The Clandestine Life of Peter Weaver.

With a long-standing passion for Second World War military history, Dr Will Ward spent ten years researching Peter Weaver’s wartime story, drawing on previously unseen memoirs, correspondence and photographs to create a fascinating account of his experiences with the Auxiliary Units and the early SAS.

Will’s interest in this hidden chapter of wartime history began in the 1990s through his work with the Defence of Britain Project and the Coleshill Auxiliary Research Team. His research brought him into contact with veterans, their families and eventually the family of Major Peter Weaver.

Joining Will for this special presentation is Joanna Weaver, Peter Weaver’s daughter. After her father’s death, Joanna entrusted Will with his personal memoirs, correspondence and photographs, allowing him to piece together an extraordinary story of wartime service, secrecy and courage.

Joanna will also share her own perspective on her father’s experiences and the lasting impact that wartime experiences can have on family life for generations.

The event offers a rare opportunity to hear this remarkable story brought to life by both the historian who researched it and the daughter of the man at its heart.
