Grown by Millie Open Day & Plant Sale
Looking to brighten up your garden this summer? Visit the Grown by Millie Open Day & Plant Sale at the beautiful Holton Lee Nature Reserve near Wareham.
Taking place on Friday 12th June, from 10am to 4.30pm, this special event offers the perfect opportunity to pick up quality plants while supporting the students of Shaftesbury Millie College.
Whether you’re a seasoned gardener or just getting started, you’ll find a wonderful selection of plants lovingly grown by students, volunteers and the horticulture team, including vegetable plants, annual flowers, bedding plants, perennials and herbs. There will also be fresh produce from the college kitchen garden, along with unique crafts and gifts handmade by students and staff.
Make a day of it and explore the stunning 350-acre Holton Lee nature reserve. Wander through the gardens, enjoy wildlife spotting from the bird hides, and discover peaceful woodland and heathland trails that weave across the site.
When it’s time for a break, visit Faith’s Kitchen Café, serving a tempting selection of light lunches, homemade treats and refreshments, with both indoor and outdoor seating available.
Holton Lee is home to Millie College, a specialist educational provision helping young people develop skills for independence and employment through hands-on learning in horticulture, conservation, animal care, catering, crafts and retail. Visitors can also learn more about volunteering opportunities and employment vacancies available on site.
