Beginners Woodland & Garden Bird ID Guided Walk
11 January 2026 • 10:30am–12:30pm
RSPB Arne, Wareham (BH20 5BJ)
Start the new year surrounded by the sights and sounds of nature on this welcoming introductory bird identification walk at RSPB Arne. Whether you’re hoping to develop a new hobby or simply want to put names to the birds flitting through your garden, local woodland or favourite park, this gentle guided experience is the perfect way to begin.
Over the course of a relaxed two-hour walk, our knowledgeable guides will help you tune into the world of birds—learning how to look, listen and notice the clues that make identification easier. From those tricky “little brown birds” to more familiar species, you’ll discover practical tips on using binoculars, spotting key features and building your confidence as a budding birdwatcher.
No previous experience is needed; just bring your enthusiasm and a curiosity for the natural world. You’re welcome to bring your own binoculars, or you can hire a pair from our shop. Off-road mobility trampers are also available—simply email arne@rspb.org.uk to book in advance.
