Chamber music Weymouth celebrates 25 years this Autumn!

One of Dorset’s longest-running classical music concert series is celebrating a major milestone this autumn as Chamber Music Weymouth marks its 25th anniversary season.
The new 2026/27 season opens on Wednesday 23 September with a recital by acclaimed concert pianist and Artistic Director Duncan Honeybourne, a Weymouth resident,who founded the series in 2002 with the aim of bringing world-class chamber music to the heart of Weymouth.
Since its beginnings, Chamber Music Weymouth has built a loyal following, welcoming internationally renowned performers alongside talented young musicians in the beautiful setting of St Mary’s Church, where audiences can enjoy outstanding live music in an informal and friendly atmosphere.
Marking Beethoven and Jourbert's anniversaries
The anniversary season also coincides with two significant musical anniversaries – the 200th anniversary of Beethoven’s death and the 100th anniversary of the birth of British composer John Joubert – making it a special year for classical music lovers.
Originally known as the Weymouth Lunchtime Chamber Concerts, the organisation has grown to include Sunday afternoon concerts and Young Artist Showcase events, while continuing its commitment to making high-quality live music accessible to everyone.
Earlier this year, its contribution to the local arts scene was recognised with the Weymouth Civic Society Arts Award.
Tickets for the opening concert are just £5 and are available online in advance or on the door.
